e TecK
-
Evolving TecKnologies
and Enterprise
Development Company
Limited
At
Evolving TecKnologies
and Enterprise
Development Company
Limited (e TecK), we are
proud to be pioneers in
charting the course to
develop a new economy
for the sustainable
growth and development
of Trinidad and Tobago
(T&T). The Government of
the Republic of T&T
mandates e TecK to
diversify this country’s
economy which has been
dominated by oil and
gas, to one that
includes economic
activity in the
non-energy sectors of
Information
Communication &
Technology, AGRO –
Technology and High
Value Manufacturing. At
the core of e TecK’s
mandate is the creation
of an enabling
environment in support
of the development of
new and profitable
industries through
direct investment in the
non-energy sector,
innovation and research.
Founded in June 2003,
the Government of
Trinidad and Tobago
approved via Cabinet, a
proposal to divest the
assets of Property and
Industrial Development
Company of Trinidad and
Tobago (PIDCOTT) from
Tourism and Industrial
Development Company
Limited (TIDCO) and
create an independent
entity, which would own
and manage on behalf of
the Government, various
real estate holdings,
including 18 Industrial
parks across the country
and the Hilton asset.
Further, at a Cabinet
meeting held in December
2004, the roles of the
State Enterprises
involved in Business
Development were
reviewed and
rationalised and as a
consequence, the role of
the company was
expanded. The change in
status to a Special
Purpose State Enterprise
as well as the
subsequent expansion of
PIDCOTT’s mandate
warranted a change of
name to reflect more
precisely the company’s
new vision and mission.
Consequently, the
acronym e TecK (Evolving
TecKnologies and
Enterprise Development
Company Limited), was
developed to reflect the
company’s focus on
developing new business
(particularly in the ICT
and knowledge based
industries) and
developing state-of
–the-art project &
programme management
capabilities nationally.
Today, e TecK is led by
a President who reports
to a Chairman and Board
of Directors, who are
accountable to the
Ministry of Trade and
Industry. The company’s
deliverables are driven
by a Senior Management
team comprised of five
Vice Presidents, each
responsible for a
Division of operations
and services, namely
Capital Projects,
Property Management,
Corporate
Administration, Business
Development and
Investment Promotion.
Our Vision
"e TecK will be the
significant partner in
the sustainable
development of Trinidad
and Tobago by
diversifying the
country’s non-energy
sector and export base."
Our Mission
"e TecK will develop and
nurture Trinidad and
Tobago’s non-energy
sector through the
creation of new
industry, enterprise and
services that are

sustainable, technology
driven, environmentally
accountable, community
oriented and knowledge
based, acting always in
the national interest."
